ETEREA quasi volesse descrivere la prima sensazione che colpisce lo spettatore, un senso di evanescenza che pervade tutta la loro ricerca con scenari che trascendono un tempo ed un luogo.
In mostra una selezione di opere che vanno dal 2010 ad oggi narrando i due principali filoni della loro ricerca: The Essence of Decadence e Fairy Tales Now entrambe realizzate a partire dalla costruzione delle ambientazioni, creazione del set, luci, abiti, fino allo scatto e alla post-produzione dell’immagine.

Nella serie The Essence of Decadence ripropongono, con scatti digitali, l’eleganza e la malinconia della fin de siècle, trasformando tele d’autore in fotografie dalla perfezione quasi sconcertante. Invece nella serie Fairy Tales Now le ambientazioni creano scenari totalmente immaginifici per delle favole che hanno dei tratti leggermente noir e gotici.

Nell’opera dei due autori si realizza un rapporto particolare tra pitture e fotografia, in cui vi è un reciproco scambio. Lo scatto coglie l’essenza dell’opera ma al tempo stesso crea nuovi significati, senza rimanere totalmente legato all’iconografia del dipinto, semmai mettendone in scena le suggestioni.

A concludere la mostra sarà il nuovo lavoro prodotto dagli autori per l’occasione e presentato in anteprima. Esso rappresenta una sorta di sintesi delle precedenti ricerche ed al tempo stesso un punto di passaggio che sta facendo evolvere la loro ricerca in chiave maggiormente evocativa.

Tunastudio made the post-production of this feature film. The film has been presented at the Mercato del Film (Venice Film Market) at the 69th Venice Film Festival, and has been selected in the Video Library.

The story of a group of youngsters on their twenties, to the utmost of emptiness and caught up in a sort of impelling urgency, socially imposed, to state at all costs their shocking “visibility”; there they easily cross the line past the banality of being stoned out to the most extreme and grotesque horror.

The Broken Circle is based on Sarah Revoltella’s short story with the same title.
